Dr. Sidney Starkman

Dr. Sidney Starkman is the newest addition to Mangat, Holzapfel, and Lied Plastic Surgery. He was born in Toronto, Canada and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona. He ventured to Tucson, AZ for his undergraduate degree, where he attended the University of Arizona. At University of Arizona, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Anatomy and Physiology with a minor in philosophy, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Starkman completed his premedical requirements during this time and had his first experiences in medicine working as an information guide in a local hospital and as a regular volunteer aid in a hospice. 

Here he developed his passion for patient care. He went to Rochester, Minnesota for medical school, attending the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine. He was recognized for his contributions as a teaching assistant in the anatomy lab, as well as a member of the Medical School Admissions Committee. Dr. Starkman then travelled to SUNY-Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine for his residency in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. 

During his surgical residency he published several papers in research, including an analysis of the anatomy of the nerves and vessels in forehead rejuvenation surgery that was featured in July 2017 “JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery”. He also co-authored a chapter in local reconstruction of MOH’s defects which was published in Facial Plastic Surgery Clinics of North America. Dr. Starkman has been active in international medical mission trips to China, Tanzania, and Dominican Republic and Haiti. He was recognized for this work by receiving an American Academy of Otolaryngology Humanitarian Travel Grant in 2018. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, Triologic Society and American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. 

Over the past five years of surgical training, he has had extensive exposure to facial plastics with the distinguished facial plastic surgeon Dr. David Sherris and was drawn to the aesthetics and art of cosmetic surgery. 

Polly Hastie

Polly is known for her masterful natural results. She meticulously administers all cosmetic injectables, lasers, micro-needling, and chemical peel treatments. After a thorough assessment Polly collaboratively formulates a treatment plan to address your beauty concerns. She suggests clients of all ages consider the preventative and visible benefits of laser procedures, peels, injectables, proper use of sun protection, and effective home care regimens.

Previously a psychotherapist, Polly is a great listener and understands the innate human desire to look our best. She wants to help people achieve their goals in the most subtle, natural way possible. Polly loves helping people look fresher and more youthful without anyone knowing they have had work done… it really is possible.

Olivia Hesse

Olivia has been a member of the Mangat Plastic Surgery team since February of 2016. Olivia received her Aestheticians license in Fort Collins, CO. graduating top her class. Given her aptitude for the medical side of aesthetics, she then continued her education at Rocky Mountain Laser College in Denver, where she earned her Master Aestheticians License and Laser Technician Certification.

Olivia has extensive training and experience working with a wide variety of Aesthetic procedures including: Chemical Peels, Microdermabrasion, Dermaplanning, Micro needling, Laser Hair Removal, Photo Rejuvenation (IPL), Ematrix Sublative Laser, Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing, Cool Sculpting, HydraFacial, EMSCULPT and much more!

Born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. Olivia moved to the Vail Valley with her family in 2001. Olivia attended Vail Christian High School and then enrolled at Colorado State University where she graduated with a degree in Journalism. A true local, Olivia enjoys skiing, hiking, horseback riding, movies at CineBistro and spending time with her American Eskimo dog, Pax.
